Hermcol®Yellow RN is a mono azo pigment,with brilliant reddish yellow shade, but the reddish shade is a bit poor than Benzidine Yellow HR, and it has good resistance to solvents, light fastness, acid resistance, alkali resistance and high hiding.Hermcol®Yellow RN provides reddish yellow shades. The pigment thus provides excellent hiding power. There is some resemblance between Hermcol®Yellow RN and Pigment Yellow 74 types with high hiding power in that they perform equally well in terms of solvent resistance, recrystallization fastness in solvent containing media, lightfastness,and durability. Tinctorially, however, Hermcol®Yellow RN is considerably inferior, which precludes its application in printing inks. Opaque varieties of the slightly more greenish diarylide yellow pigment Pigment Yellow 83, for instance, are more than three times as strong as Hermcol®Yellow RN, yet provide similar lightfastness. Media in which Hermcol®Yellow RN grades are applied include air drying and emulsion paints.
Mainly used in industrial paint, water based decorative paint.Suggested for solvent based decorative paint, coil coating.
